South African Timber Buildings - A Craft Revived
This book, believed to be the first of its kind in South Africa, is intended to record, for posterity, the history of South African timber buildings. It begins with some of the first wood and iron structures built in the 1800s (many still in existence and lived in / in use today), documents the demise and subsequent revival of timber construction in the middle of the last century, and ends with the stunning, modern, awarding-winning structures currently being built.
